Hi! My name is Emma and I am a Registered Nurse and former student midwife serving postpartum families throughout Phoenix and the greater surrounding areas. My background in birth work allows me to bring a high level of clinical safety and expertise to placenta encapsulation. I am deeply passionate about supporting mothers during the "fourth trimester," and my goal is to provide you with a seamless, worry-free experience so you can focus entirely on your recovery and your new baby.
I am placenta encapsulation certified by BEST (see certificate below)
PILLS:
Start with 1 pill in the morning with food. Work your way up to 2 pills with each meal. Always taper up and down.
Store in a cool, dry place. DO NOT store in refrigerator. If you want to save your pills for later (first postpartum period, etc), put them in the freezer.
TINCTURE:
Your placenta tincture will be ready for use in 6 weeks (usually when the pills run out). Shake once daily until then!
Suggested dosage: 7-10 drops in a glass of water.
Tinctures are extremely potent. 1 drop can equal 1 capsule.
Can I still encapsulate if I had a C-section or epidural?
Yes! Modern anesthetics and pain medications used during birth (like epidurals or spinals) are processed quickly by the body. Only trace amounts may remain in the placenta, which are generally considered safe for encapsulation. Many mothers who have C-sections find that the hormones and iron in the capsules are especially helpful in their surgical recovery.
Is it safe to encapsulate if I am GBS positive?
Yes! GBS is a common bacteria that lives in the body. The high heat dehydration process is designed to reach temperatures that neutralize GBS and other common bacteria, making the capsules safe for consumption.
How does the hospital handle the placenta release?
Most hopsitals in the Phoenix area are familiar with placenta release. You simply need to mention this in your birth plan or to your provider. Sometimes they have you sign a form saying they can release it to me, and your L&D and postpartum nurse can help you keep your placenta on ice until I get there, or you can bring a cooler from home in your "go bag". Occasionally, my clients send their placenta home with a family member/support person and I will pick it up from them so you don't have to worry about it.
